antispameurope starts the new year with an extensive update
New features for the webfilter, spamfilter and the Control Panel
Hanover, 11/1/2012 – antispameurope's most recent version of its Control Panel provides several new functions for its solutions. The most important innovations of Version 5.10 relate to both the webfilter service and the spamfilter service, while the administration of the solutions by the Cloud Security specialists' from Hannover has also been improved. Version 5.10 will be automatically provided to all partners and customers.
One of the most important innovations is the updated antispameurope Connector. Users log in to the webfilter over the Connector - this takes place automatically and transparently without the user taking any action. This means that users no longer have to go through the often tedious webfilter login process. Despite this, administrators can ensure that the policy assigned to the user has been activated. Additional benefit: companies achieve cost benefits by using the webfilter from the Cloud without needing to install local hardware.
The webfilter now also allows separate handling of break times. Administrators can determine certain time periods in which other filter rules, which differ from other times, apply. Companies can therefore allow their employees, for example, to visit social networks or news pages during their lunch break.
Another innovation relates to the processing of approval requirements. IT administrators can often not decide which websites are important for the completion of employee tasks. As a result in many companies line managers make the corresponding decisions. In the antispameurope Control Panel users can now be registered as leaders of a group of employees and provided with the appropriate rights for approval. This unburdens the IT administrators and accelerates the approval process. antispameurope has also simplified the approval process itself: this can now be issued with just one mouse-click directly from the requirements e-mail.
The antispameurope spamfilter service uses an infomail filter. Many e-mail users, when they look at their inbox, are surprised at the increasing number of newsletters and infomails. These messages are generally not spam in the proper sense: users have often given their approval for these messages but have just forgotten about it. The messages now disrupt the normal daily routine and obscure the view of important e-mails in the inbox. The new antispameurope infomail filter solves this problem. It allows even legitimate infomails and newsletters to be kept out of the inbox. The spamreport provides users of the antispameurope spamfilter services with an overview of these e-mails. Desired newsletters can be delivered by mouse-click. The positives: the infomail filter learns. The system gradually separates the unwanted newsletters and infomails from those that are desired. Ultimately, the "correct" messages are the ones that land in the inbox.
antispameurope has also enhanced the administration of the spamreport in Version 5.10. The administrator is now able to deliver spamreports on individual weekdays and can grant rights to users on how they would like to handle infomail and spam messages. Other innovations: the extensive spam statistics can now be exported as a PDF and the administration of message templates is much easier to process.
"We primarily improved the webfilter service in the current release", says Daniel Hofmann, Managing Director of antispameurope. "This was in response to specific partner and customer requirements. We will continue to maintain this rapid speed of development in 2012."
antispameurope will also display the current Control Panel at this year's CeBIT: interested parties will be introduced to the most important functions and features in hall 12, stand C39 from 6 - 10.3.2012.
