LDAP Connection - simplification of authentication to the antispameurope services
When logging onto a PC, or to the email server or various internet applications, office staff are prompted more and more frequently for user names and passwords. To limit this proliferation of decentralized distributed lists, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) was developed. This system allows central storage of access information, such as a company’s user data.
antispameurope offers a range of connectors which ease the use of antispameurope services. For instance, a user can sign on to both the Control Panel and the Web filter with their email address and Windows password, without having to remember another password.
LDAP users and group assignments
Through LDAP synchronization, the user in the Control Panel is assigned not just to their “correct” account but also automatically to all aliases. Group memberships can also be mapped through this interface. Emails addressed to non-existent recipients can be rejected immediately, avoiding unnecessary load on the email server. This functionality can, however, also be combined with the SMTP relay check.
One domain, several sites and email servers
If a client has several national or international sites and email servers, it is possible to define different routing policies within a domain, on the basis of groups or individual users. The administration is done through an LDAP directory, or simply through the Control Panel.
Customers of antispameurope who do not already use the LDAP connection will find the conversion incredibly easy; antispameurope needs access to the relevant enterprise LDAP, either via a VPN or as a secure LDAP connection. The antispameurope solutions support all LDAP directories.
In summary: antispameurope offers enterprises integrated access and authentication for all its services.
